Freedive with Tigers on the surface
We’re planning this experience around the best seasonal conditions for photographing tiger sharks at the surface. Timing will depend on weather and shark activity, so flexibility is essential. Our goal is to help you capture extraordinary tiger shark photos while prioritizing safety. This experience is designed for qualified guests with the skills and experience needed to participate safely.

Experienced guests, six at a time
Six guests in the water, two safety divers at the surface, two safety divers on scuba, a feeder and TannerUnderwater taking photos. Level 1 freediver certification is recommended. The tigers are worked at the surface in blue water.

Three days to maximize encounters
Conditions change quickly here. Booking three consecutive mornings gives us the best chance of finding the right conditions for epic tiger shark encounters. This trip is designed to be run three days straight to maximize encounters, but you can book individual days if necessary.

You leave with the images
Photos from the whole trip. Every guest gets the full edited stills and clips from all three days. The goal is to get you as many beautful photos as possible with the tiger sharks of Jupiter.

Your safety is central to the experience. Before entering the water, we’ll cover tiger shark behavior, positioning, and communication with the safety team. Guests must follow crew instructions throughout each encounter, and time in the water will depend on conditions and shark behavior. These are wild animals, so every encounter requires awareness, respect, and flexibility.

TannerUnderwater is the owner and operator of Shark Fam in Jupiter, Florida, and has spent the past ten years leading shark tours and photographing encounters in the open ocean. Through thousands of trips, he has helped change how guests see sharks, pairing firsthand experience with powerful images that replace fear with curiosity, respect, and appreciation.
Tanner made extraordinary photographs of guests with sharks a central focus of his dives, creating memories that last a lifetime and incredible images to commemorate the experience. Alongside that creative focus, he has invested in additional safety crew to support guests in the water, prioritize safety, and create a more comfortable environment.
Since launching Shark Fam just over four years ago, Tanner has built the business around photography, personal attention, and safety, earning more than 400 five-star reviews. His work reflects the belief that memorable images begin with thoughtful preparation, an attentive crew, and guests who feel supported throughout their time on the water.
His underwater film work includes National Geographic, BBC, and Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Experience swimming with sharks around the world has broadened his understanding of different species and environments, informing both his photography and the way he leads encounters at home in Jupiter. He has also worked as a safety diver on productions for Apple, Shark Week, National Geographic, and BBC. Nic Lombardo is the owner and founder of Gung Ho Divers in South Florida and a shark-diving professional specializing in tiger shark encounters. With six years in the industry, Nic has built Gung Ho Divers around one of the most challenging and rewarding goals in shark diving: consistently attracting and encountering tiger sharks year-round in the waters off Jupiter, Florida.
Through years of hands-on experience, observation, and refinement of specialized techniques, Nic and his team have developed highly effective methods for bringing tiger sharks into encounters throughout the year, something that had not been consistently achieved in the Jupiter area for many years. Their success has given Nic extensive experience working around individual tiger sharks, understanding their behavior, and creating controlled, productive encounters for divers, photographers, and filmmakers.
Nic and Gung Ho Divers have also been featured on Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, contributing their experience and knowledge of tiger sharks to productions focused on these remarkable animals.

Nicky in the water
Nicky will get in with two safety divers on scuba and work to get the tiger sharks up. Once we have them, we will bring poeple into the water and photograph them.

We will take every opportunity to get in and be with the sharks for the rest of the day

Lunch onboard
Complimentary gourmet lunch tailored to your dietary needs, with assorted snacks and water. We aim to break around noon, with timing adjusted around diving activity.

More days, more opportunities. A single-day booking offers flexibility, but we strongly recommend joining us for multiple days. Weather and shark activity vary, and each additional day gives us another opportunity to find the conditions and encounter you’re dreaming of. Wildlife encounters can never be guaranteed.

A note about Safety
Diving with tiger sharks is a significant step up from our regular shark dives in Jupiter, Florida. These encounters require greater skill, confidence, and experience in the water, as well as the ability to stay calm and follow your guides’ instructions.
Tiger sharks are large, powerful wild animals that may approach closely to investigate divers. Eye contact and techniques used during other shark encounters are never guarantees that a shark will keep its distance. Every encounter calls for careful judgment and respect for behavior we cannot fully predict.
Choosing experienced operators who understand shark behavior and prioritize guest safety is essential. For our collaboration with Gung Ho Divers, every guest is expected to take preparation, safety briefings, and crew directions seriously. Even with experienced guides and careful planning, no operator can eliminate the risks of swimming with wild sharks.
